A handmade matcha cup decorated with a hand-painted traditional Kurdish Deq symbol associated with protection, healing and positive energy.
Each cup is individually wheel-thrown and hand-painted, making every piece one of a kind. Please note that cups may vary in size and shape. No two cups are exactly alike, but they all belong to the same family.
If you're purchasing more than one cup, we'll carefully select pieces that complement each other in size and shape, creating a beautiful little family of cups, each with its own unique character.
Rooted in the ancient Kurdish tradition of Deq tattooing, the symbol carries stories and meanings passed down through generations. By bringing these symbols into contemporary ceramics, Studio Shalma celebrates and helps preserve a rich cultural heritage, keeping the tradition alive in new forms.
Dimensions: Approx. 10 cm in diameter × 7 cm in height. Measurements may vary from cup to cup.
Material: Stoneware clay
Care: Dishwasher safe. Handwashing is recommended to preserve the beauty and longevity of your cup.
